The first thing that you need is a page to put up online. This is what people will see and the entry point. There is NO point using a standard affiliate link (You know the main sales page for a product) it's what everyone else uses and most surfers will have seen it a million times before.
If your promoting someone elses product as an affiliate then its much better to use a splash page as they convert upto 500% better than sales pages. You can use the ones supplied by some programs but as above people will have seen it before so your results will be a lot less if any. If your building a list (Collecting email addresses) you need a squeeze page and the same applies. Provided ones tend to either be too long for traffic exchanges (People only have until the timer goes down to see them) or they have been seen tons already.
To solve both your splash page and squeeze page issues you can make your own unique page at a program like Splash Page Maker or Adkreator as they both give you fully hosted pages and make them easy to make by just filling in boxes in a step by step process. Every one can use the easy to follow Splash Page Maker Wizard or the editor at AdKreator. This way you will stand out as you have something different and results should be more.
TOP TIP - Do not use free splash page makers as they contain a link under your splash that links to them with created at ...... or something similar. You can loose a big % of your clicks by having them. Splash pages should only have one option, click to your site or keep surfing. Dont promote the maker program on your splash.

Traffic Wave or Aweber
If Your Building A List Use A Autoresponder Service - If you are building a list then you will need somewhere to store it and the best way to do this is use a service called an Autoresponder. I use Traffic Wave and Aweber as they are both great for email delivery and Traffic Wave is one of the only real Traffic Exchange friendly responders. Adding people to your email address book and mailing them from there is just not good enough. Autoresponders are updated to make sure your email is being delivered and they store all the email addresses and send out from their servers so for a little monthly cost you cant go wrong.

Follow Up To Your List - Ok so if your list building and you have them signed up to your list. You are going to need to keep in touch with them for two reasons. The first is to keep them active in a way by knowing who you are, With so many emails online if you do not mail them at least once a week it is amazing how many will forget who you are or by not mailing them your list can become unresponsive. Secondly another reason is you can recommend things to them and earn commissions by promoting those recommended products.
Deciding what to write can be a big pain in the neck so its worth checking out this really cool product... Responder Series it's a series of emails that teach either Traffic Exchange use or Affiliate Marketing. So not only does this provide you with something for your squeeze page to make them want to join (Example "Grab your free tips on using traffic exchnages to generate tons of free traffic to your site") but Responder Series also in doing the teaching promotes some great products that you can add your affiliate links to and make real cash commissions and traffic too.

Ok So lets recap so far, you have a page, you just need to get your traffic from the best traffic exchanges. There is no point joining lots of exchanges as your advertising efforts will be diluted. Try to only join the best exchanges and the only real way to find out the best ones for you is to track your advertising. Both the two links above are good trackers and you should add your splash page in the tracker then add the tracking URL to the traffic exchange. Once you have prospects, customers or signups then you should promote the programs that helped you get them on the back end via adverts on thank you or confirm pages or in your email follow ups. Downlines can be very powerful in traffic exchanges.
